The streak continues...
The Ohlone Renegades have played five games this season, and they've won all five.
Hosting College of the Redwoods [COR] on Friday afternoon, Ohlone was able to jump out to an early lead thanks to a well-worked goal finished off by Freshman Alex Reynoso. Pushed into the starting lineup due to injuries, Reynoso has added tenacity up front that defenders are struggling to cope with. While the Renegades struggled to find their second goal, primarily due to COR playing a difficult-to-break high offside trap, they managed to control most of the game.
The breakthrough came late in the second half from none other than Angel Vasquez. For those keeping track, that is now eight goals in the freshman's first five games for Ohlone. He currently leads all of 3C2A with 16 points.
The Renegades held on to their 2-0 lead for the remainder of the game, marking the fourth clean sheet in a row from starting goalkeeper Angel Munoz. As impressive as Vasquez has been scoring goals, Munoz has been stopping them.
Next up for Ohlone, they travel to Oakland on Tuesday afternoon to take on Merritt College.
