Ohlone Men's Basketball Sweeps Cañada College on the Road
REDWOOD CITY, CA - Ohlone College Men's Basketball traveled to Redwood City to face the Cañada College Colts for a Coast-North rivalry game on the Colts' sophomore night. The Rengades led by as much as 18 points in the first half until Cañada slowly cut the lead down to as few as 1 point in the second half. The back and forth contest between the two playoff hopefuls came down to the very last possession where Anthony Lacy came away with a steal to seal the game for the Renegades.
In addition to the usual contributions to steady sophomores Kiratraj Sanghera and Joseph Lemos whom both contributed 13 points each, the Renegades were helped by a season-high in points from sophomore guard Omar Babikir as well as a career high from local freshman Cristian Failla of Newark Memorial High School. The freshman contributed 8 points and 6 rebounds and a net rating of +16 in his 11 minutes of action. Meanwhile, Omar Babikir added 16 points which is his highest mark of the season.
