Bio

Chris Fornaci took over as the Hitting Coach at Ohlone College in the 2025 season, and 2026 will be his second year at Ohlone College.  He will also handle the team's infield duties and will be responsible for coaching Third Base.  Fornaci comes to Ohlone by way of NCAA Division I University of Pacific, who compete in the very tough WCC.

Fornaci played collegiately at Division I Pepperdine, where he spent four seasons.  He finished with 139 games played for the Waves and recorded 25 doubles, 2 triples, and 15 homeruns there.  While there, Pepperdine won two WCC Tournament Championships (2014, 2015) and one WCC Conference Championship (2015). In 2014 and 2015, they played in the NCAA Regionals, and in 2014, they won the Cal Poly Regional and finished one game from the College World Series, as they lost in the Super Regionals to TCU.  After Pepperdine, Fornaci spent five seasons playing Minor League Baseball in Independent Leagues, including the Pacific Association, the Frontier League, and the Atlantic League.  The 2018 season was his best, as he scored 55 runs, drove in 52, and pounded 8 doubles and 17 homeruns for the Vallejo Admirals, in the Pacific Association.  He also reached base 86 times via walk (63) and hit-by-pitch (23).  The Admirals won league championships in 2017 and 2021, and Fornaci won two Gold Gloves during his time there.

“Chris has been such a welcome addition for us,” explained Head Coach Mike Curran.  “He dove in with two feet and has really attacked his role of hitting coach.  He works with guys daily, he has them taking notes, he has them turning stuff in.  He has a really nice balance between working with guys on their swings, but also giving them time to breathe and work through things.  It’s been a lot of fun watching our guys work with him.  We have some offensive principles that we live by here, but after that, Chris is responsible for developing our hitters and helping them move forward – and he does a great job of that.”

Fornaci received his degree in Advertising from Pepperdine in 2016.  He is engaged to be married to Taylor Lee and he currently resides in Walnut Creek.
